This pandemic changed relationships, changed the way we think of a relationship and probably changed the dating game forever. I think you’ll agree with me when I say that this year has taken everyone by surprise and I don’t mean that in a nice way. Everything that we thought was normal has now a different meaning and we have no choice but to adjust to this new way of living.
By reading this you probably think that you’re meant to stay single forever, but I’m here to tell you it doesn’t have to be that way.
Sure, being single has its benefits, you can do whatever you want whenever you want without having to give anyone any explanation but humans are not solitary creatures and there will come a time when you will feel the need to have someone by your side. Sure, the dating game has changed a lot during this pandemic, but you have to look at the whole situation with a positive eye and make the most out of it.
Online is the new way to go
If you don’t have a profile on a dating site already I don’t understand what you’re waiting for. You can find free UK dating sites like Match Me Happy and give it a go, you never know who you might find, right? Everything happened online this year, school, online Zoom meetings for work, family gatherings so why shouldn’t you give online dating a go?
If you come to think of it, it’s quite romantic. Only the idea of meeting someone you like and chatting for hours/days/months till you can actually meet face to face, it’s quite special.
Keep a positive attitude
A smile and a positive attitude can brighten up a room. I don’t want to sound cheesy but that’s the truth either you like it or not. I know this might sound cheesy and you might think that you can’t smile like a lunatic in all situations, but that’s not the point I was trying to make.
What I meant is that you should make the most out of every situation that comes your way and to look at it from a positive angle. Even if you don’t like the person you meet, just think of it as a lesson and move on.
Don’t think too much
That sounds weird, but what I mean to say is that you shouldn’t overthink certain situations because it’s not only bad for you, but also for your dating life. When you meet someone and you decide to date that person, you should let all your negative thoughts aside and just try to focus on knowing that person better and having a good time. Another tip that I can give you is not to look at your date as an actual date if that makes you nervous. Just think it as a meeting an old friend for a good chat.
Dating during these weird times that we are living might sound like an unnecessary pain but I don’t see it that way and neither should you. The online dating game is giving a new perspective to dating and actually gives the persons involved more time to know each other better before they actually meet face to face and that’s better in my opinion. So welcome any new experience with an open heart and try to make the most of it.
